The procedure of Admission: Step-by-Step Guide

So, the first step here is to check whether or not you are eligible to apply for this course, if you haven’t already.

Here are the eligibility criteria for all levels.

CSEET

  • The candidate must be 17 years old or above
  • Candidate must have passed class 12th in any discipline except fine arts from a recognized board or university
  • Graduates and Post Graduates can also apply

CS Executive

Now, there are two ways to get entry into CS executive course. You can either sit for CSEET and clear the exam or get direct entry with the following exemption scheme.

Here are the conditions in which you can get direct entry to CS executive.

  • If the candidate has passed the final level examination of the CA course granted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
  • If the candidate has passed the final level examination of the CMA course granted by The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India.

If you come under any one of the situations mentioned above, you will not have to sit for CSEET and get direct entry to CS Executive.

CS Professional

Only after clearing both modules of CS Executive, you can take admission to CS professional course.

Registration

To take admission in a CS course, you have to register for the level you are currently pursuing i.e., CSEET, Executive or Professional. For this, there are two directions you can step into. You can register offline or you can register online.

Offline mode

For offline registration, you can download the application form from the official website of ICSI and print it out or you can get one directly from a regional council/chapter. After that you will have to fill it out and submit it along with the registration fee and documents required to the regional council/chapter itself. You would have to submit a challan for the fee paid.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India urges students to apply online for security reasons. The online process is also much easier and smoother to follow.

Online mode

For the online mode of registration, you can visit the official website of ICSI.

Follow the steps given below to register for the respective course online.

Registration for CSEET
  • On the website, click on “Online Services”
  • From the dropdown menu, choose “Register for CSEET”
  • Read the details provided and click on “proceed with registration”
  • Now, you will be required to fill out your details and upload the requested documents
  • Recheck your details, complete payment, and save your transaction ID

Registration for CS Executive
  • On the website, click on “Online Services”
  • From the dropdown menu, choose “Register for CS Course” (if you are taking direct entry) or “Registration for CSEET passed students in the executive program” (if you passed CSEET)
  • Read the details provided and click on “proceed with registration”
  • Now, you will be required to fill out your details and upload the requested documents
  • Recheck your details, complete payment, and save your transaction ID

Registration CS Professional
  • On the website, click on “Online Services”
  • Choose “Students Portal” in the drop-down menu and Login to your account
  • Go to my Account and click on the option “Professional Registration”
  • Now you will be required to upload pass mark sheets of your executive exams
  • After that, you can proceed with fee payment and your registration is done

Documents to upload while registration

Following are the documents that you will be required to upload while registration

  • Your photograph
  • Your signature
  • Category certificate (if availing concession)
  • DOB certificate (10th pass certificate)
  • Qualification certificate (12th marksheet/graduation certificate/post-graduation certificate/ ICAI or ICMAI final passed certificate)
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar, Passport PAN, Voter ID, Driving License, Rashan card)

Company Secretary course fee structure

Company Secretary course fee structure involves a registration fee, an examination fee and some additional expenses depending on the level of course.

Let’s look at the fee required for all three levels of examination.

CS Course fee for CSEET

The registration fee for the CSEET exam is Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) per appearance.

CS Course fee for CS Executive

The registration fee for the CS Executive exam is Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) per appearance.

Additional fee structure may include:

  • Education Fee: Rs.6,500
  • Pre-exam fee: Rs.1,000
  • One day orientation fee: Rs.600
  • Subscription to journal (optional): Rs.500
  • Exemption from CSEET fee: Rs.5,000

If you wish to apply for direct entry to the CS Executive course, you will have to pay a fee of Rs.5,000.

CS Course fee for CS Professional

The registration fee for CS Professional exam is Rs.12,000/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand Only) per appearance.

Additional fee structures may include:
  • Pre-exam fee: Rs.1,000

For the process of registration and fee payment, ICSI has advised students to use only some selected browsers. These are Internet Explorer 9, Mozilla Firefox 38.0 and above or Chrome.

CS Executive
  • Registration Date for June Term (Both Modules) – on or before 30th November of the previous year
  • Registration Date for June Term (One Module) – on or before 31st January of the same year
  • Registration Date for December Term (Both Modules) – on or before 31st May of that year
  • Registration Date for December Term (One Module) – on or before July 31st of that year

CS Professional
  • Registration Date for June Term (All Modules) – on or before 31st August of the previous year
  • Registration Date for June Term (One Module) – on or before 30th November of the previous year
  • Registration Date for December Term (All Modules) – on or before 28th February of that year
  • Registration Date for December Term (One Module) – on or before 31st May of that year

What After Registration

After you have successfully registered, save all your account details such as transaction id, registration number, and all other login details.

Exam Form

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India will release an examination form. You will have to fill out that form and pay the fee in due time. Only after paying the exam fee, you will be able to sit in the examination.

Admit Card

Students must download their admit cards from the official website of ICSI. Without the admit card they will not be allowed entry into the examination hall.
