CMA Course a.k.a the Cost And Management Accounting course is a three-level course pursued in India. To take entry into the CMA course, aspirants can take two routes; After completion of class 12th which requires enrolling in the CMA Foundation course or Direct Entry to the Intermediate course

CMA Course Eligibility After 12th

Students who have completed their class 12 from a recognized board must enrol in the CMA Foundation course firstly. When they clear Foundation exams according to the guidelines provided by ICMAI, they can move on to the next two levels.e., CMA Intermediate & CMA Final. CMA course eligibility for the foundation course is given below. 

CMA Foundation Eligibility

A candidate should have passed Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized Board or Institution
Passed the Senior Secondary School Examination under the 10+2 scheme of a recognized Board or an Examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto or has passed the National Diploma in Commerce Examination held by the All India Council for Technical Education or any State Board of Technical Education under the authority of the said All India Council, or the Diploma in Rural Service Examination conducted by the National Council of Rural Higher Education

CMA Inter Eligibility After 12th

Students who enrol in the CMA Foundation course after 12th will be eligible to enrol in the Intermediate course i.e., the 2nd level of the CMA course according to the following criteria: 

Passed Senior Secondary School Examination  /  Higher Secondary Examination (10+2)
Passed Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India
or qualified for the Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination of the Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India
or Degree examination from any recognized University
or Pursuing Engineering Course (having completed 2nd year/ Semester IV/equivalent)
or Qualified Engineers or equivalent in any subject other than music, dancing, photography, painting & sculpture, and the likes

Students must follow this CMA Inter eligibility criterion if they enrolled through the 1st route i.e., the after 12th route. For CMA direct entry eligibility you can read below. 

CMA Direct Entry Eligibility

There is a 2nd route to enrolling in the CMA course which is the direct entry route. With this route, aspirants are not required to appear for the Foundation exams but they can directly start with the Intermediate level. 

A degree Examination of any recognized University or equivalent.
A degree (honors) Examination of any recognized University
Pursuing Engineering Course (having completed 2nd year/ Semester IV/equivalent) or Qualified Engineers Direct Admission to Intermediate Course.
A Master Degree Examination of any recognized University or any of the Indian Institute of Management
An Engineering Degree Examination of any recognized University or any of the Indian Institute of Technology or the Indian Institute of Science
The Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England and Wales, or Scotland or Ireland or the Final Examination of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, London, or of the Final Examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India; Final Examination of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, U.K.
Entry Level-Part I Examination of Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) course of this Institute.
Entry Level-Part I Examination and Competency Level Part II Examination of Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) course of this Institute can seek admission to Intermediate Course of Institute.
Section ‘A’ and Section ‘B’ Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or equivalent;
Subordinate Accounts Service Examination conducted by the Central/State Government Organisations
Part-I and Part-II of Banking Examinations styled C.A.I.I.B
Any other examinations may be recognized by the Council for the purpose of admission as a registered student of the Institute.
Qualified in the Foundation Course Examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Intermediate (by whatever name called) Examination qualified students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

CMA Final Eligibility

CMA Final eligibility criteria is the same for both routes. After completion of Intermediate level students can enroll in CMA Final. 

Passed CMA Intermediate course from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India
Successful completion of 15 months of practical training a.k.a articleship
