CMA Final Result: Pass Percentage & Passing Marks

ICMAI declares the CMA Final result group by group: you pass Group III or Group IV with at least 40% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate of that group at one sitting (ICMAI Prospectus 2025). In the June 2026 term, 32.97% of candidates who sat both groups passed both, and 4,220 candidates completed the Final course, according to ICMAI's result press release for that term (August 2026).

How CMA Final is passed

CMA Final (Syllabus 2022) has two groups. Group III is Papers 13–16. Group IV is Papers 17–19 plus one elective (Paper 20A, 20B or 20C) that you choose when you enrol for Final. See CMA exams for the paper names. ICMAI's Prospectus 2025 sets these pass rules:

Both groups	At least 40% in each paper you sat and 50% aggregate across both groups together

You complete the Final examination when you have passed both groups.

Exemption and carry-forward of marks

These rules apply when you do not pass a group:

Exemption: a paper in which you scored 60% or more is exempted in later attempts. For the group aggregate, an exempted paper counts as 50 marks.
Carry forward: if you scored 60% or more in a paper and at least 40% in each of the group's other papers, the paper is exempted and its actual marks are carried forward instead.
Time limit: either benefit lasts for the next three successive exam terms.
Losing the benefit: it ends automatically if you sit that paper again.

CMA Final pass percentage

ICMAI publishes the pass percentage in a press release with each result. The figures for the latest term are below.

The "passed one of them" and "passed both" rows describe the same 4,337 candidates who sat both groups. Pass rates change from term to term, so compare with the press release for your own term.

When the result is declared

CMA Final exams are held twice a year, in the June and December terms. ICMAI announces each term's result date on icmai.in, so wait for its notice rather than an estimate. For the June 2026 term, ICMAI published the Intermediate and Final results together, with its press release in August 2026.

How to check your CMA Final result

Go to icmai.in on the day the result is announced and open the results link for the Final examination of your term.
Enter your registration number (11 digits) and roll number (6 digits). These were the details asked for on the June 2026 Final result page.
View your result and save or print a copy.

ICMAI has rebuilt its website, and older direct links to its results page no longer work. Start from the home page or from the result link in ICMAI's notice. Results queries go to exam.helpdesk@icmai.in, the address given on the result page.

Marksheet and certificates

The online result is not your marksheet. ICMAI's result page states that results on the website "cannot be treated as original mark sheets".
Marksheet: ICMAI sends Final candidates a marksheet showing their marks in every paper they sat. A duplicate marksheet for an exam held within the last five years costs ₹100.
Pass certificate: this is issued to candidates who pass Final, in the manner ICMAI's Council directs.
Certificate of Merit: this goes to candidates who pass Final with all subjects together at one sitting, without any exemption.

Rank list and pass lists

With each result, ICMAI publishes a provisional rank list. The June 2026 Final list covers ranks 1 to 50 and shows each rank holder's name, registration number and city. ICMAI also publishes pass lists for complete pass, Group III and Group IV. Rank certificates and prizes are presented at ICMAI's National Students' Convocation, which is held once a year.

Verification and photocopies of answer scripts

ICMAI's Prospectus 2025 gives these rules:

You pay online. ICMAI does not re-evaluate answers and does not give question-wise marks. Confirm the current procedure and fees in ICMAI's notice for your term before you apply.

Before you apply

Verification only catches totalling errors and unmarked answers. If you missed a group by a few marks, check your paper-wise marks first. A paper with 60% or more is already exempt in your next attempt, as explained above.

After your result

Passed both groups: you have completed the Final course. Associate membership of ICMAI also needs at least three years of practical experience of the kinds ICMAI accepts (Prospectus 2025).
Practical training: students who registered for Intermediate on or after 11 February 2020 must complete 15 months of practical training before the result of their both or remaining Final group(s) is declared, according to Annexure VII of the Prospectus 2025. Passed one group: you only need to clear the other group. Check which papers are exempt, and remember that the benefit lasts three terms.
Did not pass: look at your paper-wise marks to see which papers are exempt or carried forward. Then practise past CMA Final question papers for the papers you lost marks in.
