CA Foundation is the first level of examination held by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the course of Chartered Accountants (CA). Candidates wanting to pursue the course of chartered accountants in India have to register for the CA foundation and clear the examination keeping in mind the guidelines provided by ICAI. CA Foundation exams are held twice a year, once in the month of May and once in the month of November.
A candidate wanting to register for CA Foundation must meet the following eligibility criteria.
Under the following conditions, a candidate can apply for exemption from CA Foundation and directly move on to the next level i.e., the CA Intermediate.
To take admission to CA Foundation, a candidate has to register by filling out an application form, providing the requested documents, and paying the registration fee.
The registration fee for the CA Foundation exam is Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand Only) per appearance.
The syllabus for CA Foundation Course has been divided into four Papers.
CA Foundation is a partially subjective and partially objective test consisting of 400 marks.
After giving the Foundation exam, candidates can check the results once ICAI has announced them on their official website. A candidate must obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in aggregate to successfully pass this level and move to CA Inter and CA Final.
