CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test)

CS Executive Entrance test is the first level test held by the Institute of Company Secretary of India (ICSI) for the course of Company Secretary (CS). Students wanting to pursue the career of Company Secretary in India have to register for CSEET and clear the examination keeping in mind the guidelines provided by ICSI. CSEET exams are held four times in year, in the month of January, May, July and November. Only after successful completion of CSEET, can a student go for the next two levels of this course.

 

Eligibility Criteria: Who can apply for this Course?

A candidate wanting to register for CSEET examination must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate must be 17 years old or above
  • He/she must have passed class 12th in any discipline except fine arts from a recognized board or university
  • Graduates and Post Graduates can also apply

 

Exemption: Who can get exemption from this Course?

Under the following condition, a candidate can apply for exemption form CSEET and directly move on to the next two levels of CS course:

  • If the candidate has passed final level examination of CA course granted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
  • If the candidate has passed final level examination of CMA course granted by The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India.

 

Procedure of Admission: How to register for this Course?

To take admission in CSEET, a candidate has to register by filling out an application form, providing the requested documents and paying registration fee.

Registration fee for CSEET exam is Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) per appearance.

  • Registration Dates for January Term (November 21 – December 15)

  • Registration Dates for May Term (January 21 – April 15)

  • Registration Dates for July Term (May 21 – June 15)

  • Registration Dates for November Term (July 21 – October 15)

 

Syllabus For CSEET

CS Executive Entrance exam consists of 4 papers that are given below. For detailed information about each subject click on the respective paper.

 

Viva Voice

In CSEET syllabus, part B of paper 4 “Current Affairs, presentation and communication skills” a candidate is required to appear for Viva Voice.

This section is for testing the communication and presentation skills of candidate and not his/her knowledge, hence, the questions asked will not be based on syllabus. It is strictly for testing how well a candidate can communicate his thoughts and ideas.

 

Passing Criteria

After giving CSEET exam, candidates can check results once ICSI has announced them on their official website. A candidate is required to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in aggregate to successful pass this level and move to CS Executive and CS Professional.
