After completing CSEET, CS Executive is the second level exam held by the Institute of Company Secretary of India (ICSI) for the course of Company Secretary (CS). Students wanting to pursue the career of Company Secretaries in India have to register for CS Executive and clear the examination keeping in mind the guidelines provided by ICSI.
CS Executive consists of two modules, i.e. module – 1 and module – 2 containing 8 papers in total, 4 in each module. A student is required to pass the examination for both modules individually or together, in order to complete this level. CS Executive exams are held twice in year, once in the month of June and once in the month of December. Only after successful completion of CS Executive, can a student go for the final level of this course.
A candidate wanting to register for CS Executive examination must meet the following eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for CS Executive, a candidate is required to pass CSEET. He/she can also get direct entry to CS Executive (without giving CSEET) in the following conditions:
If the candidate has passed final level examination of CA course granted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
If the candidate has passed final level examination of CMA course granted by The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India.
To take admission in CS Executive, a candidate has to register by filling out an application form, providing the requested documents and paying registration fee.

Any student pursing certification in CS, preparing for its courses, is required to undergo complete coaching for the respective course. Oral coaching refers to going to the institute for classes and pursuing your course. For his/her oral coaching, a student can take admission in regional council or chapter or any other recognized oral coaching center.
For the executive program, 35 classes of 2 hours for each subject are compulsory.
Within six months of registering for the executive program, candidates must undergo a 7-day Student Induction Programme (SIP). Also, students have to complete a 70-hour compulsory computer training program to before enrolling for the executive program exams, including two days of induction, three days of e-governance, five days of skill development, and five days of entrepreneurship development.
After giving CS Executive exam, candidates can check results once ICSI has announced them on their official website. A candidate is required to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in aggregate to successfully pass this level and move on to CS Professional.
